About BOPEA


The Bopea Institute Organization is a peace and education organization. It is a registered Cambodian non-profit organization, which was founded in February 2016. The Bopea Institute is a peace organization, working to build a capacity for young people in Cambodia to promote a culture of peace, human rights and community development. Moreover, the Bopea Institute serves to empower Cambodia’s people, especially its youth; to become active citizens and lifelong learners through capacity building, dialogue, advocacy and data based research. The Bopea Institute believes that education is an effective tool to build a peaceful society. When people gain knowledge related to rights, culture of peace and sustainable community development, they will exercise their rights to move for a positive change.

Bopea Institute Organization’s strategic objectives for 2016-2020 are

1-The Capacity of Cambodian youth, especially those in poor and marginalized communities, is improved in terms of personal development, vocational training, human rights, genocide education and community development.

2- The victims of the Khmer Rouge and their young generation are motivated and supported to deal with their past in the framework of Transitional Justice. 

3- Cambodians and local authorities are more educated and encouraged to practice their rights and promote a culture of peace and development in their community.
